The Credit Union Difference

Non-profit, not-for-charity, but-for-service.

This is the International Credit Union motto, which focuses on the goal of every credit union:  To serve its members.  Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives.  Like other cooperatives, they are organized, owned, and operated by their members.  This unique structure means credit unions can provide a number of advantages over traditional financial services offered by banks or savings and loans.

Profits are returned to the members in the form of higher savings dividends, lower loan rates, reduced rates for other member services, the addition of other products and services, as well as fewer fees.  All members, not just a select few stockholders, benefit from credit union growth.

Credit unions are member controlled; each member has one vote to help determine how the credit union will operate and who will serve on its board of directors.  The board of directors serves on a volunteer basis, sets credit union policies, and guides credit union operations.

Community Choice Credit Union (CCCU), founded in 1953, exists to provide excellence in financial products and services to the Central Iowa community.  With 5 offices and Free Online banking, CCCU provides easy and convenient access for its membership.  As one of the largest credit unions in Iowa, CCCU is able to function as a low-cost full-service financial institution, while still maintaining the personalized service credit union members are accustomed to.
