Deposit Operations Specialist

Position Summary

To support the financial management and operations of the Credit Union through maintenance of accounting
records and reports. Perform a variety of processes associated with company payroll deductions IRA's accounts
payable, GL accounts and account reconciliation and perform extensive account research to resolve problems
with other branches or member accounts.

Responsible for all aspects of the Automatic Clearing House (ACH), share draft and remote
deposit processing, including the handling of exception items such as both paid and returned NSF
items, unposted items and check adjustments. Posts journal entries, processes wire transfers,
reconcile and balance assigned GL accounts, pays bills, performs tax filings and processes
payroll deduction requests and coinciding company payrolls. Responsible for processing daily
reports and settlements.

Performs supporting administrative tasks including processing mail, posting accounting entries,
processes IRA's, distributions and required reports, follow appropriate fraud prevention, security
policies and procedures and assisting others within the departments as needed.

Researches accounts to troubleshoot member and internal inquires while working with other
departments as needed to ensure a smooth and efficient resolution.

Performs other job related duties as assigned.


  • One year to three years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Courtesy, tact, diplomacy and confidentiality are essential elements of the job. Work
    involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for
    purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting
    cooperation. Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a high pressure environment while
    maintaining professional demeanor.
  • Ability to collect, analyze and interpret financial data and perform minor math calculations.
    Ability to gather information and solve problems while putting people at ease. Ability to
    solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or
    schedule form.
  • May be required to sit for long periods of time. Minimal lifting.
  • Length of working day may be unpredictable and additional hours may be required to
    perform job effectively. Must be bondable.
